Employment Training

Through our occupational training program, we want to provide technical skills in different areas of high demand. The student can obtain their certification at a low cost.

Occupational Training

Course Description: This 120-hour program is designed to prepare learners for employment as a Nurse Aide. The course integrates theory, skills practice, and clinical experiences, making those who complete the course eligible to take the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program examination.

Duration: The Nurse Aide Training course is a total of 120 hours. The learner will attend 60 hours of classroom/laboratory instruction followed by 54 hours of clinical instruction in a skilled nursing facility. (Foundations of Healthcare is a pre-requisite for the Nurse Aide Training Course.)

Course Description: The program covers the following areas of study, urinalysis, and phlebotomy, vital signs, assisting the physician, disinfectant, and sterilization. The program also prepares the students to take the National Healthcare Association’s Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification exam.

Duration: A 24-week program that includes 336 hours of classroom/lab instruction and concludes with a 160-hour, unpaid clinical/externship experience. 

Course Description: The program covers the following areas of study; medical terminology, laboratory testing, policies and procedures in maintaining laboratory safety and infection control, the proper methods of requisitioning, specimen transport, and specimen processing. The program also prepares students to take the National Health Career Association Phlebotomy Technician certification examination.

Duration: A 15-week program that includes 100 hours of classroom/lab instruction and concludes with an 80 clinical/externship experience. 

Course Description: This course includes Medical Terminology i, Medical Terminology II and Workplace Success

Medical Terminology I: The Medical Terminology I course provides basic medical terminology knowledge, emphasizing spelling, definitions, and pronunciation. It includes anatomy and basic physiology and an exploration of the body systems.

Medical Terminology II: The Medical Terminology II course provides basic medical terminology knowledge, emphasizing spelling, definitions, and pronunciation. It includes anatomy and basic physiology and an exploration of the body systems. 

Workplace Success: This course introduces the learner to skills for success in a workplace environment. Participants explore the implications of equity, inclusion, and diversity in the workplace while developing skills to function as a workplace team member. This course will provide learners with a competitive edge to be better candidates for entry into the workforce.

Duration: Foundations of Health Care is a 22-day course that serves as a prerequisite for the health care occupational training courses.
