Jonathan D. Encarnación

Jonathan Encarnacion, the Senior Vice-President/Chief Retail Officer of Community First Fund Federal Credit Union, is a seasoned leader with a diverse background in finance, healthcare, and community development. His role encompasses providing strategic direction and leadership for the credit union’s branches and lending operations.

Before joining Community First Fund Federal Credit Union, Encarnacion served as the Senior Director for UPMC Health Plan, where he played a crucial role in expanding the Medicaid program in the Lehig Capital, Northeast, and Southeast zones.

Encarnacion’s dedication to public service is evident in his numerous appointments by Pennsylvania governors. In 2023, he was appointed by Josh Shapiro to serve as the Chair of the Board of Trustees for Wernersville State Hospital. His involvement in key advisory roles, such as the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Latino Affairs (GACLA) during the Shapiro, Wolf, and Ridge administrations, showcases his commitment to fostering inclusivity and diversity in government affairs.

His impact extends to various community-based organizations, where he holds significant trusteeship positions. Encarnacion chairs the Berks Latino Workforce Development Corporation, serves as the Vice-Chair for the Regional Foundation, and is a board member at Pennsylvania’s Small Business Development Centers. His commitment to historical preservation is evident through his active trusteeship at the National Civil War Museum.

Jonathan Encarnacion’s academic journey includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Texas A&M University, followed by a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Alvernia University. He has further honed his leadership skills through fellowships at renowned institutions like Johns Hopkins University and Harvard Business School.

Mr. Encarnacion remains actively engaged in community development through his participation in PNC Bank’s Community Advisory Council. His background and commitment to public service position him as a strategic leader contributing to the growth and development of the communities he serves.
