Dayana Blandon was born in South America, Ecuador, grew up in New York City, and is a graduate from CUNY University with a Cultural Anthropology degree. Almost two years ago Dayana made the career transition to Berks County and loved the vibrant and large Latino community she found. She knew that she could contribute to the community as a Bilingual Human Resource Professional.
Her purpose is to build inclusive programs and assist Latino communities in finding a voice and career paths in manufacturing where she spent most her HR professional work history. Currently, Dayana Blandon is a Human Resources Manager for CarbonLITE, a startup plastic bottle recycling plant. Together with her team, she is working on creating an inclusive work environment, career paths all while working on teaching others about sustainability and saving our planet one bottle at a time.
Our focus is on education and workforce development that leads to household self-sufficiency. When a family is able to be self-sufficient, they rise out of the cycle of poverty, empowering generations onward and enriching the fabric of our communities.
Tec Centro Workforce Network is a coalition of community advocates, public officials, philanthropic leaders, and business professionals. The collective goal is to establish community-based bilingual workforce centers to serve populations that are disproportionately disadvantaged. Currently, six centers are located across five counties including Berks, Lancaster, Lebanon, Dauphin, and York, focusing on areas with a heavy concentration of residents who face barriers related to bilingual education, skills training, and job placement.
